Re: Bluehost I love Socrates, however Bluehost have not got Fantastico any more. Its Simple Scripts.

It doesn’t matter. You can install WordPress using Simple Scripts.
Bluehost has WP, and lets you choose what v. of WordPress you want to use . Its the same as Fantastico.
Question…………can you upload other headers to the Socrates Theme and if so, is that easy to do?
I actually designed a header for my alumni group and I’d like to use that on a website, but I wanted to buy Socrates. Just wanted to find out how customizable it was as far as headers go.
Absolutely, you just need to create a 960×150 header.. header can be taller if you edit header height in css.
And once created go into our header tab and use the header uploader to upoad to the “user uploads” folder. Once uploaded, click on user uploads tab and your header will appear. (you might need to click twice) then just select it and save.

We answer this on the FAQ page..it’s the first question, we also give the answer in our splash page inside the dashboard. Just save your background and style settings.

Just found you on Facebook. Yesterday, I signed up and uploaded Dream Template and it didn’t work. The template had bugs and there was no support. I am canceling my subscription to DT and will then order from you. Wish I found you before i would have saved at least 24 hours of stress. Thanks for delivering a product a non IT people like me needs.
This might be a dumb question, but can you upload jpg images on a post?
Yes, using the media icon you can upload any image type to your post.
Thanks Dan…I am viewing your 37 min video on installing and it keeps stopping at the point of adding images. I rerun it a few times and have the same problem each time at the same place…Help

Gail, whenever this happens with a video it’s almost always a caching issue. Try deleting your browser cache and/or rebooting.
Dan, I have tried to stylize the template and there are some challenges.
1. I uploaded a header 960×150 jpg. There was a notation on the top of the work page, but a stock header is showing and when I added title text it shows up on your stock header. When I looked at the web site the stock header is there. The colors I chose don’t show anyplace. What am I doing wrong???

Hi Dan. I have unlimited domains with HostGator and unlimited domains with Socrates. How do I create more websites on HostGator with the Socrates Theme. I already have my first one up and running.

You need to register the domains point them to your hostgator account, and then use the “add on” domain function to add them to your hostgator account. Once you do you can use Fantastico to install WordPress on your addon domains.

I have my hosting my hosting with HostGator, WordPress, and Socrates theme as you recommended. I put up a new site in about 20 minutes, without knowing anything, zero website building experience. It was easy. Where I can find your training videos and tutorials for adding widgets for ads and banners to websites with Socrates? Everyone in my family now wants me to build websites for them and there companies.

I just bought a bundle of domains but I got then all pointing to wordpress.com could I change them in cpanel or do i have to go to WP.org and set it up there

You should not point anything to WordPress.com. You need to use WordPress software installed on your webhost. Wp.org doesn’t have a login.. Just install WordPress via Cpanel.. usually in fantastico or simple scripts.
Alexis, there’s no reason to do anything with Wp.org at all. If you have Hostgator install wordpress via Cpanel’s fantastico.. we have full webinar on this at: http://www.socratestheme.com/webinar.php

Absolutely intuitive; Dan Nickerson is a great educator and did not hold anything back. Anyone new with WordPress must see this. In fact, this is all you need to get started with WordPress.
This is a great video, but the sound quality is awful—can it be improved?

Boy I wish I had seen this 4 mnths ago when I first started and was beating my head on the wall trying to figure stuff out! Even so I am so glad to see it now, a number of easy changes I need to do that I had no idea I was doing wrong, this should really help. You should send this out with Socrates when people buy it, thanks so much!
Very Helpful! The Volume is very low though.
