Hi there

I have inserted an image on one of my blog pages embedded in the text and it is showing the text really close to the image which doesnt look great:

How do I create a margin or padding around the image?

I posted this question on wordpress actually and I was advised to edit the style.css file....is this correct and if so how do I do that?

thanks :o

Wordpress has an advanced image editor which you can use simply by clicking on the image in your post. And you can edit the style.css file here.

.post img { padding:0px 10px 0px 10px;}

Padding works like this.. Top, Right, Bottom, Left

Dan, I had the same issue, found the css file and changed it, but it did not change anything for me. Wasn't sure what to change them to so I experimented all the way up to 100. No change. Any suggestions? Thx.

Disable WP super cache.

I don't have that plug in

Ok, I found the issue - the instructions were limited to images inserted into "Posts". I have that under control, but the same instructions do not work for images inserted into the "pages". I have searched the CSS for something that looks like it would take care of that, but haven't found it. Any advice for that?

You can use the advanced image editing in your pages to add padding and margins. Or you can try adding padding to the general img tag in the css.

For pages, I'd just use the advanced image editing. Unless you plan on adding more than a few pages.. which is rare.

After upgrading to version 2.0, I had a problem with my header.
I did some troubleshooting by deactivating plugins one at a time and found out the following plugin was causing the problem...

"Redirection Manage" - all your 301 redirects and monitor 404 errors
