This morning I categorized 3 posts to "more info" and connected that category to the nav bar. Those 3 articles moved to another page and left the primary article on the home page, as desired. Tonight, those 3 articles are back on the home page, as well as on the other page in shortened format. If I create a "home" page to make it static, then the nav bar will show 2 "home"s and I don't want that. Plus those articles are back on there and may defeat that intention. The site is mobilemarketing.describedhere.com Can you help?

The navbar should not change if you use a static home page. The navbar is independent of the frontpage setting.

Is your Setting > Reading > frontpage still a static front page or did that setting get reversed?

I can only guess that the setting didn't save.. i've not seen this before.

I have not yet made the home page static beause the other 4 articles caegorized as "more info" are also showing up on the first page. If I can get those pages off the home page and keep any future articles from being posted there, that would accomplish my goal. I want my first article as the only article on home. As I stated in my previous note, when I first created the category "more info" and checked that category for each of the articles, those posts went off the front page and onto the page linked to the category. The problem is, they came back. They are also still on the category page, albeit not in the full article mode. Is there a way to remove those posts from the first page? Thanks/

Honestly I don't see anything unusual.

You have 4 more info posts and 1 uncategorized post.

The most recent posts show on the home page as they are supposed to, so the home page is working correctly.

If you want the most recent post to be the home page, just goto

Settings > Reading

And set only 1 post to display. However, this will only show 1 post at a time in category archives etc.

Or install this plugin

Once activated, you can set 1 post on home page, and any number of posts on your category pages.

Thanks for the link. That did what I wanted.

Somewhere in these posts, there was a thread about moving posts by putting them into a category and connecting the category to the nav bar. It would move posts onto that page when that category title was checked when writing the post. That's what I had done and it wasn't working.

Anyway, mission accomplished. And, as always, you're brilliant and most helpful
