View Full Version : Header Display Issue - Banner displaying as 940 pixels in IE

I'm running Socrates 2.2
It's displaying fine in FF3.6/VISTA Home/XP3 since FF is seeing the header image as 960 pixels but IE7/VISTA Home & IE8/XP3 it's displaying as 940 pixels wide. I've removed any CSS overrides but no such luck for fixing the issue.

I've noticed in the page source the css code Socrates displays in the header, the #header has width at 940px and padding of 5px 10px 0px. When I manipulate these values it fixes the issue.

Here's a picture of the issue... [35kb]

This is weird.. and not something I've seen before.

When I look at your source there is code missing that shows in other sites.. but I can't figure out what's causing it.

Try adding this to custom styling box in Socrates > Styling.

background-size: auto;
background-origin: padding-box;
background-clip: border-box;
background-color: transparent;

Also to fix your captions add this..

.wp-caption p.wp-caption-text {font-size: 10px; text-align:center;line-height: 6px!important;\ padding: 5px; margin: 0 0 10px; color:#000;}

Thanks Dan for the quick response. I was able to resolve the issue. I found code above the doctype which I removed that was causing IE into quirks mode.

I wondered about that.. but didn't think it was a factor.. guess it was.
