Couple Forum Questions

Wasn't sure which topic to put this in so here it is. Two questions about forums.

1. Is phpBB good and how can I do like you did here and make it look "Socrates"?

2. Is there concern with visitors just going directly to the forum? When I come here, my URL bar opens up to the forum URL and I don't even go to the main page. Is there a way to have people go through the main page or is there a way to monetize the forum, or is this not even a concern? Any thoughts?

1. I use to use PHPBB a lot but the spambots loved it.. haven't used in a couple years so don't know if it's gotten better. You should also know that Forums are not a great idea unless you have a lot of content and a lot of users to populate it. They don't generate much revenue either.

2. Those being referred to us by affiliates, goto the salespage, then the demo site, and then they can see the forum link. It's not a concern, but a selling point.. Support is a huge fear which the forum helps to overcome.
