At first I thought I had caused an error in my upload copy but after repeating the download to cpu, activating another theme, uploading and activating this is the results I get.
I viewed the widgets (left, right and center) but did not see how to enter my link as in the 1.1 version (<p>,</p>; not there in v2.03).
I went into the archive.php (editor) and I see it adding but you can see what resulted.
I include two files; archivephp.txt and widgetcenter.txt to see if you could help me locate what I am missing or think I am missing.
I am leaving my blog as is for you to see.

Erwin,
Can you elaborate on specifically what you're trying to do?
did not see how to enter my link
What link is that?
The bottom (left, right, center) widgets don't appear by default in Version 2.03, you just need to open them in Appearance > Widgets and drag widgets into them.

Dan, I am expecting the information for the bottom widgets to be in place and the navigation to be up at the top in the sidebar.
I went to the php page in editor for widgets and attempted to add the hot link into the page (as I did with v1.1) but could not see where to insert the html code for it.
It was easy to recognize with v1.1 and it worked, but now I do not understand how to insert the widgets.
Just clicking widgets I could not find how to add the code, so I went to editor and opened the widget pages. Again, in v1.1 I saw the <p></p> and inserted my widget code, but not so with 2.03.
As for the side bar, I now have the archive list at the bottom with blank space above the fold and I am not sure what to do to bring the titles and links to the top of the page in the side bar.

Erwin,
Can you paste here what you're trying to add to the bottom widget?
There's really no need to go into the php editing for the widgets. Text widgets will work perfectly for your needs.. Just drag a text widget into the bottom widget section and paste any html into the widgets.. then save.
If you want to add recent posts to your sidebar drag the recent posts widget above the archive widget in the primary sidebar.
If you want to add pages to your sidebar drag the pages widget to the top of the primary sidebar and save.

Wow, I have got to go back to school and learn how to communicate, sorry Dan.
Obviously, I am not experienced with WP and PHP. I was not able to load or create a widget in the page "widget" so I went directly to the php page in editor (I am loading a banner code).
In v1.1 I could see the paragraph code on widgetcenter.php and the same on the other two. All I had to do was insert my banner code between the paragraph codes and it showed up on my home page.
I included the attachments thinking you would look at them to see there is no code for that as there was in v1.1.
If I were to say to you I want to create a widget for my banners would that make more sense?
I approached this with the thought that it was Socrates that changed the coding that allowed me to get this accomplished so smoothly in v1.1.

Those should work just fine in Text widgets. I am assuming the lack of an opening bracket "<" on the one for the left widget is just a copy paste error in the forum post.

OK, I think I understand what you are after now.
You don't need to go into any of the theme files to add your banner codes, that's the old way.
What you need to do is to go to 'Appearance' - 'Widgets' on the left hand menu in WP admin.
You should see 2 sidebar and 3 widget areas.
Click on the little down area on the right of the 'Widget Left' header, then drag and drop an empty 'Text' widget across to it.
Paste in your left widget code:
<a href="http://www.inboxdollars.com/?r=ref5088524">
<img src="http://www.inboxdollars.com/graphics/creative/banners/120x60/banner_animated_120x60_05.gif" border="0" />
</a>
Repeat for your other 2 widgets.
Should now all be working.
WP does it this way now so that you don't have to know PHP, or where to add code into a theme file.
Let me know if you need a hand

BINGO Phil,
Ha, awesome feeling to know and see results,..I love it.
Thank you.
I noticed that the header selection I made in v1.1 is no longer there and once I reselected another that my other concerns went away, i.e., my sidebar issue with navigation moved back to the top of the side bar, great.
I am grateful for the attention and help I have received, humbled by my ignorance but so thankful to have this forum to search and find support in a timely manner so I can move on.
This thread cured three issues and I thank you all.

Glad to be of assistance, and not knowing how a program works inside out isn't 'ignorance', just think of yourself as slightly behind some of us on the learning curve :D
