Hello all,

Is it possible to have a flash banner display as one of the rotating ads in the field for the 728 X 90 banners. My file is a .SWF by the way.

I uploaded the file to my server and updated Wordpress:

<a href="http://www.fanranker.com"><img src="http://www.fanranker.com/images/123-banner_com_1248230.swf" width="728" height="90" border="0"></a>

My blog address is: http://www.dosoccertricks.com

Please help.

Thank you.

Hi

You can add a Flash banner, you just can't do it by adding it as a linked image in the way that you have done.

As it is a Flash banner you have to tell the browser how to handle it, use this code instead:

<object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000"
codebase="http://active.macromedia.com/flash4/cabs/swflash.cab#version=4,0,0,0"
id="name" width="728" height="90">
<param name="movie" value="http://www.fanranker.com/images/123-banner_com_1248230.swf">
<param name="quality" value="high">
<param name="wmode" value="transparent">
<embed name="name" src="http://www.fanranker.com/images/123-banner_com_1248230.swf"
quality="high" wmode="transparent" width="728" height="90"
type="application/x-shockwave-flash"
pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?
P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash">
</embed>
</object>

Hey guys,

I created a banner in GIMP. Yay! Now I'm clueless on how to place the banner and have it link to my product website. The banner is an animated GIF and 728 X 90.

How do I create the embed code for the banner I created and make the customer link to the product page when they click the banner? I thought the banner making was going to be the hardest part.

The simplest code would be:

<a href="http://www.yourproducturl.com"><img src="http://www.yourgimpimage.com/filename.php"></a>

However you can also create a draft post, insert the image, hyperlink it and then just copy the html code for it and paste to the 728x90 box..

Delete the draft post after.

I have a website for a league. I am using the rotating banners as a display for my league sponsors.

1. Is there a way to add more banners than the 3 provided?

2. Can I use the top-right side rotating ads area (FB, Twitter,etc.) for ads instead of the current settings? Probably not, but will this be an option in a later version?

3. Is there a sidebar rotating ad plugin or widget that I could use or that you can recommend?

1. Is there a way to add more banners than the 3 provided?

Add your own banner rotator code to just one field, you won't get the slide effect but you can rotate per page view. Check out the wp125 plugin.

2. Can I use the top-right side rotating ads area (FB, Twitter,etc.) for ads instead of the current settings? Probably not, but will this be an option in a later version?

We already have this option in the custom html boxes below the social media fields.

3. Is there a sidebar rotating ad plugin or widget that I could use or that you can recommend?

Ok.

Here is the url for our flash banner 728 * 90

I would like that banner to show up in the 728*90 rotating header on my blog.

I've tried the code suggestions in this thread already and they do not work for this particular scenerio.

Any assistance is Mucho Gracias status. ;)

Thank you!

Works perfectly. Thank you!

And now I get to take it down to wait on Compliance at Gain to make edits to what we can and cannot say!

Hi, I have created a simple picture that Id like to add a link to, for the top bar.

I made an images folder on the first level of my WP install but not sure how to reference the image and my product URL...

Would really appreciate some help...

Thanks in advance :-) Clare x

Hey everyone...

Just in case anyone read my last post.. I tried it and it worked :-) Woop woop!!! :-) :-) :-)

<a href="http://www.myaffiliatelink.com"><img src="http://www.myurl.com/images/example.gif" width="728" height="90" border="0"></a>

I made an images folder on the top level of my domain, put in my image, only mine was a simple .gif file

See how I modified the code above... :-) Hope this helps some newbies :-)

Best wishes Clare :-)
