HI SOCRATES Support:

I also submitted this to the Community Forum.

I had the following Email exchange with Dan Nickerson, one of the creators of SOCRATES Wordpress Theme, on Tuesday, 6/8/2010. I still don't understand what he means by /%postname%/ (For Permalinks) ONLY - Can you help me to understand this:

Just use /%postname%/

The structure you're using is not valid.

HI Dan:

I forgot to send the attachment screenshot with this Reply
just now, showing the Permalink Settings for the Socrates
2.0 Beta, so I'm resending it.

Sorry about that.

Thank you,

HI Dan:

On Number 2. Below:

2. I don't know if you can see it on your browser, at http://promoterpower.com/blog,
but I see both the CPA Marketing and Weight Loss Articles on my blog Front Page.
If you look over at the Categories Section (right under the opt-in form), you will see
• Categories

* Article On What Is CPA (Cost Per Action) Marketing, And Information On CPA Networks<http://promoterpower.com/blog/category/what-is-cpa-cost-per-action-marketing-and-information-on-cpa-networks/>
* Articles on Losing Weight, The Natural and Healthy Way!<http://promoterpower.com/blog/category/articles-on-losing-weight-the-natural-and-healthy-way/>
• You say this, below:

2. Check your permalink settings, they are most likely incorrect.

I went to this site, and looked at the information:

http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks

I'm enclosing a screenshot of the Socrates Permalink Settings. What I don't get
is the part where it says this:
Common settings
Default http://promoterpower.com/blog/?p=123
Day and name http://promoterpower.com/blog/2010/06/08/sample-post/
Month and name http://promoterpower.com/blog/2010/06/sample-post/
Numeric http://promoterpower.com/blog/archives/123
Custom Structure **%category%/%postname%/ - This one in particular,,,

I don't know what to do here, to put in between the %category%/%postname%/ - This one in particular. Do I just put in something like %Article On What Is CPA (Cost Per Action) Marketing, And Information On CPA Networks<http://promoterpower.com/blog/wp-admin/categories.php?action=edit&cat_ID=61>%/%What Is CPA (Cost Per Action) Marketing, And How To Sign Up For CPA Networks%/

For the CPA Marketing Article?

And then for the Weight Loss Article, would I do a Separate %category%/%postname%/, like this:
%Articles on Losing Weight, The Natural and Healthy Way!<http://promoterpower.com/blog/wp-admin/categories.php?action=edit&cat_ID=58>/%Losing Weight, The Natural And Healthy Way!%/?

And do I need to do another one, like the screenshot, for the Weight Loss One, or is just one permalink good? If it is, how will this change the current posts, when you login to the http://promoterpower.com/blog? I don't really want either of these articles to show on the front page of the http://promoterpower.com/blog site, but ONLY under the CATEGORIES, right under the opt-in form here. So how can I change that, to not show either article on the front page of the http://promoterpower.com/blog? I just want information on what I do here, and NO Articles. So could I just do a Post on this front page of http://promoterpower.com/blog, and Not Link it or Create Any Category for this, but just a Post? Then put the 2 Articles Posts under the CATEGORIES Section, just below the opt-in form, like it is already, and NOT show any articles on this Front Page of http://promoterpower.com/blog?

And then when you click on either of these, you will see that part of the
article comes up, and then says at the end of part of each article, Read More.

Thank you,

Jon Lutz

Also, on Number 1.. Below:

1. You can place your codes in the footer html box in the layout section.
Your analytics code is definitely in the source code of your site. Just click view source.
I can see the Analytics Code in the Source Code, but why doesn't it show on the actual blog
at http://promoterpower.com/blog? Can I put something like Copyright 2010, Promoter Power LLC
and then have that Link to another one of my websites, in the Footer HTML Box, in the Layout
Section also? Will that show at the bottom (in the Footer) of the http://promoterpower.com/blog
Main Page?
Thank you,

Jon Lutz

3. I don’t understand.. just remove the widget if you don’t want the code in sidebar.

Can you clarify.

Subject: Questions concerning Socrates 2.0 Beta

HI Dan Nickerson:

I downloaded the Socrates 2.0 Beta this morning
(Tuesday, 6/8/2010).

I have some questions about it:

1. In the Admin Panel for Socrates 2.0 Beta,
under the Layout Section, I put both of these
codes for both the Master Reseller Goodies Products
(the one scrolling vertically under the opt-in form)
at http://promoterpower.com/blog right now.
I want to put this Code down under the Footer
Section box:

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.resellergoodies.com/swfobject.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">var email_address="davidcheyne@live.ca<mailto:davidcheyne@live.ca>";var user_id="";var widget="0";</script>
<script src="http://www.resellergoodies.com/widgets/horizontal/widget_8.js"></script>

I also want to put this Google Analytics Code in this Footer Section box
also, but I cannot see it right now at the bottom of the blog at
http://promoterpower.com/blog, which I created in my Dashboard
this morning.

<script type="text/javascript">

var _gaq = _gaq || [];
_gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-16860061-1']);
_gaq.push(['_setDomainName', '.promoterpower.com<http://promoterpower.com>']);
_gaq.push(['_trackPageview']);

(function() {
var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true;
ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ? 'https://ssl' : 'http://www') + '.google-analytics.com/ga.js<http://google-analytics.com/ga.js>';
var s = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(ga, s);
})();

</script>

2. I don't know if you can see it on your browser, at http://promoterpower.com/blog,
but I see both the CPA Marketing and Weight Loss Articles on my blog Front Page.

* Articles on Losing Weight, The Natural and Healthy Way!<http://promoterpower.com/blog/category/articles-on-losing-weight-the-natural-and-healthy-way/>

* And then when you click on either of these, you will see that part of the
article comes up, and then says at the end of part of each article, Read More...

3. How do I get the Vertical Reseller Goodies Scrollbar out (below the Categories),
as per above?

If I have any other questions, I will let you know.

Thank you,

Jon Lutz

Hi Jon,

In your Wordpress dashboard, under settings, click on "Permalinks".

You should see a section with a heading "Common settings". Near the bottom of that section is a choice labeled "Custom settings". Select that and in the field type /%postname%/.

Click on "Save changes".

Now your permalinks will be set correctly.

Hope this helps.
