View Full Version : Layout Menu completely blank

Hi, My Layout Menu completely blank... it used to work fine.

When I run a HTLM validator on my site (http://minibarfridge.org) it shows I have an error in my Top Ads (<div class="im-topAds"> <div class="top728">). I missed putting a close (/) for the image. The code does not show up at all in the topAd.php (topAd.php) template in the WP Editior.

I'm thinking this maybe the problem that won't allow me to access the "layout" menu in Socrates??

I would like to findout what file to edit on my host to correct this problem?

Or any others suggestions.

Many thanks
Chris

I'm assuming you're using IE8, can you try another browser like FF.. Also you're running V 1.1 You might want to upgrade to V 1.2 of 2.0 Beta from download area.

Hi Dan,

I actually use FF. I've now tried it on IE8. Makes no difference. Layout menu completely blank (all other menus work).
Do you know the file name that I would need to edit on my host so that I can fix my img error?
I was hoping to wait for the full release of v2 before using it (if need be I will go with the Beta).

Actually, while I've got you. The HTML validator also gives another error (actually 310 errors) for this line:
"<div id="im-mainContent" class="im-mainContent">
<div class="class="post-26 post hentry category-mini-bar-fridge tag-bar-fridge tag-fridge tag-mini-bar-fridge tag-refrigerator tag-small-fridge"" id="post-">"

Error says: "The attribute "post-26" does not have a value. All attributes must have a value. This is required for XHTML/XML documents or if the option to require attribute values is enabled."

It goes on to give the same error for every phase in that line.

I can't work the error out, but I'm not too worried about it either.

Cheers
Chris

We've never heard anyone report the error layout menu problem in FF..

I would recommend you reinstall Socrates 1.2. Only takes a few seconds.

I don't see any problem with your image code. The only place to enter the image is in the top ad unit custom html field. Not sure what you mean by file, as it's your image code.

Honestly, I'm not sure on the validation errors. I know that some people tear their hair out over them, some people pay no attention, and most people don't have a clue what they mean.

I will make sure we work on getting Socrates as compliant as possible.
