IE 8 browser not working at all...
I just had a look at one of my blogs using IE 8 and it looks catastrophic.
Almost as if there's a downgraded image of the page but none of the menus work and it basically looks rubbish. Can't fill in the opt-in or anything.
Wondering if this might be a problem with the autoresponder I'm using which is MailChimp (I think it uses javascript).
Can't work out if this is an IE 8 error, a Socrates error a MailChimp error or my error?
Must confess, I'm worried about the implications.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

Hi
Panic over, I had created the MailChimp signup form by using a text widget. This didn't affect Firefox or Chrome but completely stopped IE 8 from showing the page correctly.
Found a Wordpress MailChimp plugin which has solved the technical problem. Signup form doesn't look as attractive but at least it works in the browsers I've tested.

Yet another case of Internet Explorer being a pain in the ****, don't you just love Microsoft!

Yep, IE can be a pain in the rear end. Problem is, a lot of people still use it so it's worth checking things out with it.

Hi Steve
I am having a problem with MailChimp at the moment when using it on my Socrates theme. There is always a space above the signup form created as it appears that Socrates throws in extra paragraphs and breaks
What plugin did you use? I am wondering if it might solve my problem

Hi Gordon
Not sure if the problem is MailChimp or Socrates.
The plugin I used can be found here;
http://www.mailchimp.com/plugins/mailchimp-wordpress-plugin/
I just found that the form that MailChimp created did some weird things with IE.
The plugin solved the problem I had but the form just didn't look as nice.
Hope this helps you.
Cheers

Hi Steve, and thanks for the prompt reply, I was looking at a few plugins, some over at WP themeselves, and I saw this one also. I am looking to add a subscribe form into a page and am getting a space above the subscribe every time.
To be honest, I think it is a Mail Chimp thing, they of course say it is a Socrates thing as Soc generates funny code, I think it is their own code is funny.
It is my belief that they have way too much code in their form they generate, far more than what is required, and it would have been better to keep it simple
Will have a look here Steve, and let you know how I go
Thanks again
