Posting on Home Page and Setting dates

Hello,

I'd like to know whether there'll be SEO issues if I set my blog posts to my home. Should I set home page posts as general posts and send other posts via categories? Could you please tell me the best way to do this for best SEO.

I'd also like to know whether it's a good idea to remove the posts date from the posts. I was thinking of removing it because, I can't post that frequently and don't want the content to look outdated. Do you think there might be SEO issues with this.

WordPress by default will send your latest posts to the home page. They will also be accessible through the categories or archives widgets if you are using them. This works well for SEO. Whether or not you display the dates or not will have no affect on SEO. The search engines can tell how long it has been since the site was updated. Your best results with the search engines will happen if you add new relevant content on a regular basis.

Thanks for the information lynnth. Just one more thing. Is it possible to set customized side Ads for different categories. For example, if I make posts on weight loss category, all the side bar Ads will show Ads related to that niche.

That would require some custom coding unless you can find a plug-in that will do that for you.
