    Default Remove Dates from Posts?

    I have been searching for this solution that I have seen somewhere - possibly on this forum.

    I would like to publish most of my posts without a date. How can I do this?

    Thanks for your help.

    Do you want to remove the entire line below posts that has the date and author or just the part with the date?

    Also do you want to remove it from only certain posts or all of them?

    Hi Jon

    I would like to know how to implement both options: Removing or not publishing the date to all posts and also for selected posts.

    The line currently shows:

    by on Monday, June 21st, 2010 | Comments Off

    It is currently showing no author name. Where would I enter a name? I would like the option of showing an author or not.

    Thanks

    Peggy

    Peggy, did you setup and admin nickname in the admin profile account? It should display in your posts if you did.

    There's really no way to turn this option on or off per post that I'm aware of... it has to be either on or off. You could disable on index.php and activate on individual pages though.

    Dan is correct, there isn't an easy way to turn it off on a per post basis.

    It is possible to hide it globally though. Find this line in the Socrates theme style.css file:

    Code:
    .postAuthor				{ font-size:10px; color:#999; margin-bottom:10px;}
    and change it to this:

    Code:
    .postAuthor				{ font-size:10px; color:#999; margin-bottom:10px; display:none;}
    It should hide the entire author/date/comments line throughout your entire site.

    Thanks, it worked for me too.

    Since this was so helpful, can we do the same with comments closed at the bottom of the post?

    Default Removing name, date and comments

    Hi, great theme, mostly simple but I'm struggling to remove the name, date and comment. I don't want it on any post/page. I tried as you suggested removing the code from the style sheet but 'author' is still there. Any help greatly appreciated as I can't upload content and 'go live' until this is resolved.
    Many thanks

    If you have Socrates V.2.03

    First go into Socrates > Layout

    Halfway down the page you can click the radio button to turn off that line in all posts and pages.
