How Do I Remove Dropdown Menu Above Header Image?

Hi,

When I am logged into Wordpress, I find a dropdown menu appearing above my header image. The dropdown items on the menu bar are labelled: Edit Page, Add New, Comments and Appearance.

I don't know why they have appeared and only appear when I am logged into Wordpress. How can I get rid of them?

They are a part of WordPress in the latest releases. They are there to help you manage your site when logged in as an administrator. It does not show for visitors.

You can disable in your profile. I really dislike this new feature of Wordpress 3.1 .. the default option should be the other way around.

Thank you for your messages. They've been a real help to me. I've been wracking my brains as to why this had happened and was wondering if everyone suddenly had access to the admin of my site.
