godaddy advertising on site - don't know where it is coming from

Hi,

I was going to post this in the general wordpress section but have since discovered that this problem only occurs whilst using the socrates theme (in this case V2.03).

One of my sites has recently been displaying a godaddy banner at the the top of each page (outside of the normal display area) and also a lot of godaddy advertising below the footer. Weird but the domain is registered with godaddy but hosted with hostgator.

The site is onlythe80s.com. I cannot find any reference to the code it is displaying in any of the socrates files. The only real change to the site in the last month is the install of the WP super cache plugin but I have deleted it as I didn't see any real difference with it enabled.

Any pointers to where I can look as it has been doing my head in for the last few hours.

Sometimes stuff like this will happen with certain plugins, so check your plugins.

If not that I would check directly with Godaddy support. I noticed as the page was loading before the icon appeared it said "this page parked on godaddy" or something like that. There was also a popup that my browser blocked. I would check with Godaddy.com.

I'm going through the plugins now but as I said in my first post, it only happens when using the socrates theme. Also the iste is not hosted with godaddy, I only registered the domain with them.

Something is injecting an entire web page at the end of your page. Complete with its own header and body tags.

Yes, looking at the source of the page it appears that way.

If you view your source code and scroll all the way down to about 3/4 of the page you will all kinds of godaddy code. Been long time since I registered with godaddy but I wonder if while checking out going through all the upsells that maybe you checked or failed to uncheck something and it was attached to your domain. Again I would check with them.

First let's clarify that this is unrelated to Socrates so as not to scare other users.

You must have installed a plugin or entered some javascript code into Socrates > Layout which is pulling a url on Godaddy that is not live.

Just to confirm the problem was resolved.. It was a "links plugin" and unrelated to Socrates.
