    Default Need to know what to search for

    Hey,

    I wanting to put a image behind the text (Opacity low) in the main text box of a page, but have no idea what to search for in the forum. Anyone know what doing this is called?

    If I search anything with background I get only results about styling.

    This has never been asked before.

    If you're just talking one page and behind the text your best bet would be to create a div around your text in the editor.

    Like.

    <div id="textback"> your text </div>

    And then put the background css in your custom css box.

    Thanks Dan

    <div id="textback"> your text </div>

    And then put the background css in your custom css box.

    From my limited knowledge gathering that "textback" would be the identifier in the css?

    Also found this to add to page.php

    <?php if (is_page('down-the-rabbit-hole-to-wonderland') ): // page 1 ?>
    <style type="text/css">
    body {
    background-color:#000;
    background-image:url(<?php bloginfo('template_url'); ?>/images/body-bg.jpg);background-repeat:repeat;
    }
    </style>

    But I gather the next update of Socrates would override this?

    Should add that I understand the code I pasted in(Also that it is page specific), but limited knowledge of css, so not sure how to set the css up

    Would the css be

    .textback

    {
    background-color:#000;
    background-image:url(<?php bloginfo('template_url'); ?>/images/body-bg.jpg);background-repeat:repeat;
    }

    or something similar? Will play around anyway and see what I can come up with

    I wouldn't use the first code I mentioned. The mod I mentioned would not be effected by future updates.

    You are using the custom css box which would get carried over.

    You'd use code like this for div id.

    #textback

    {
    background-color:#000;
    background-image:url(<?php bloginfo('template_url'); ?>/images/body-bg.jpg);background-repeat:repeat;
    }

    Just use the full path to the image though.. upload via media tab and you'll get the path..

    Am I missing something with the

    When entering in html mode on the page editor

    <div id="textback">

    Text

    </div>

    It changes it to normal text when saving??

    Nevermind worked it out..... I'm getting better at that.

    SOmethings not working with the code

    #textback

    {
    background-color:#000;
    background-image:url<?php bloginfo('template_url'); ?>http://www.xxxx.com/wp-content/uploa...repeat:repeat;
    }

    I get black behind the writing so the

    background-color:#000; works

    But no image will show up, the image exists at the url so not sure what could be hiding it? Image URL I'm using as a test is just one from the monetize bar so 728 x 90.

    EDIT

    Looking at the above way the code has come out could be the answer, the );background-repeat:repeat has automatically formed the url.

    padding: 0;
    background: #000 url(http://www.xxxxx.com/wp-content/uplo...romobanner.jpg) center 20px no-repeat;

    For those interested in this after putting this on your post. Can also post these around your title for a custom color behind a title.

    <div id="textback">

    Your Text

    </div>

    Then I checked what the page width was with the sidebars I was using then adjusted the image to be that wide. In my case I had a 150px sidebar so the page width is 772px. To get your whole image to display put the following your custom css box. Without the height specified you will only have the image show down to where the text ends.

    #textback

    {

    background: #000 url(http://www.larben.com.au/wp-content/...onaltrain1.jpg) no-repeat;
    margin:0px;
    width:772px;
    height:510px;

    }
