Images not showing up in post intro

Hello everyone,

I am working w/ a developer who has intermediate experience in WP and Socratese. Recently we have changed our site to Socrates (which I like, great functunality and clean look - would love to see drop downs eventually added) and have discovered that pictures do not appear in the post intros.

Using a previous theme the intro would include all up to the break, which would include the image. wordpress seems to only accept so many characters and no image is available on any of the post intros.

How can we either, expand the intro to include text to the break,,or at the very least include an image. this is actually important as adding a picture on the post intro adds great asthetic values.

I like the word Socratese.. you're the first to come up with that.

We do have drop down menus. Just use the 3.0 menu option.

Socrates 3.0 will be out soon and it's even cleaner looking.

LOL - Dan, Thanks for the super fast reply. So if i understood you correctly there is the ability having a thumbnail image come through using the identified code w/ a child theme? Nothing larger I suppose?...Hmm I will request that functionality in the other area.

Just add that code to the functions.php file. It's included in our next update.

Hey Dan, my technical support person as unable to get the pictures to appear in the summary area per your directions,,,he states "spent about half an hour editing the functions.php file. It's a rather large file and it wasn't made entirely clear which part to edit. I tried inserting the suggested code in several different places but none of it made any difference whatsoever."

So that I have not miss-spoke, looking to have the picture above the break appear in the summary/intro part. I prefer to have a pic w/ the summary/intro.

Are you able to provide any more detail AND do the pictures need to be thumbnails and is there a way to modify the text that is in the summary/Intro?

I had said to add at the end of the file.

The pictures would have to be thumbnails.

Have you look for plugins that do this? Like..
