I followed the fix that was sent to me. I did a search in the code and found the line I can now see the site and work on it.

The one thing that did happen is that the header disappeared and I am not able to pull a new one in yet, but I am sure that you are working on that and that it will fix eventually. Just letting you know.

If you PM me access to your site and tell me what header you want I will fix, nothing should have happened to your original header, but the header panel won't load while the server is down.

    Default Just a thought...

An email to all Socrates owners might save them a TON of lost time (like the hour+ I spent this AM trying to figure this out. The HostGator guy told me in a chat!)

    Just a thought...

    Lightbulb Notification of Socrates issues

    Hi,

Is it possible to get automatic notification of Socrates issues (like the DDOS attack that you're currently experiencing) so that I can be aware of what is going on with my sites as well as my customer sites?

Secondly, is it possible for you to set up a secondary activation server to move to in the occurrence of a DDOS attack? That way you can just shut down the server under attack and the EvilOnes will eventually move on to a more accessible target. Just a thought.

If the ddos attack continues much longer we will do that, however it would quickly overwhelm support and that would cause more problems than it would solve. I'd like to think that most would check our members area or forum once they notice the issue.

Also there are a large percentage of Socrates customers who are not on our activation system and that would cause an additional level of confusion.

I'm currently editing 250 sites for a customer one by one. I take support seriously and am doing the best I can to resolve it as are the server techs.

I deeply apologize for the inconvenience.

Yes Guzie, This is correct. I just performed this action on one of my sites and the site comes right up now.

Paul, your post was correct, I edited it out of the thread. Just do what you said and save.

As far as notifications and secondary servers. I can assure you that after this incident we will be making changes to our activation server to prevent this from happening again.

We had one issue prior to this weekend's attacks in the last 20 months, but this one is much more serious and we will make changes.

I can assure everyone our customer's interests are most important to us and we want nothing more for this to get resolved as soon as possible and not happen again.
