Socrates 2.3 Released

Just a quick update to let users know I uploaded version 2.3 which fixes an issue with the activation system.

It's now in our members area.. The next release will be Soc 3.0 which is now in testing mode.

My Socrates based blogs have been working just fine up until this past weekend when they refused to load or if they did, the load was very slow. I now have an issue where page editing doesn't display the edit screen properly. I can still see a draft's page preview, but can't always return to the edit screen with editable text/html. Before I go and activate a fresh copy of Socrates 2.3, do you think the new version will help?

And yes, I've upgraded to WP3.3, but after this past weekend's sporatic loading problems.

We had major server issues this weekend and there are a number of threads on it.. They've been resolved.

The page editing problems you mention would be wordpress related. You might try updating wordpress and any plugins with update notices.

Have you recently installed any plugins? If so you might try deactivating them as well.

If you decide to upgrade, the sequence of steps is listed below the 2.3 download file on the download page.

Many thanks for all the work on thhis great theme!

I've had ads running in the widget area and also within the blog posts from the In Post ad sections. They seem to start to show as a rectangle but just don't actually show! Can you advise because before update and re-save they were showing ok...

Hello Dan - good to "meet you" here!

I'm not sure what's going on here as my email images are also not showing although they were earlier yet in the supplying site they are!!

It's not an urgent thing but I updated the Socrates for the first time and originally wondered if that has had any effect. I have another that is working well and was not going to update if there was a problem..

It may just be the image supplying site has a problem. The pig image in the widget is in the media set so shows ok!!
