Removing the archive widget

Hello,

Sometime past Lynn was good enough as always to assist me with a problem. I really don't want to impose on him again, he's done so much to assist me ;0)

I really need to know how I can remove the hard coded archive widget from this blog;

After reading SEO info on Googles ongoing assault on duplicate content I really want and need to remove this from said blog.

Unfortunately for me I choose this particular theme a couple of years ago. I didn't know the archive feature was not a widget I could just remove or delete. i appreciate any assistance.

If you have not placed any widgets into the sidebar you get a couple of default widgets including archives. If you don't want any widgets you can place a text widget into the sidebar and leave it empty. As soon as there is any widget placed the default ones will go away.

Thanks again for your assistance. However if you remember I tried the text widget and it didn't work.
Here was your suggestion form that earlier post...

"I haven't tracked down that archives widget put it will require you to edit one of the theme PHP files if the theme does not give you an option to turn it off."

If you could point me to the specific archive PHP file I could comment out or disable.

I am seeing the archive widget on the page multiple times. If you want to send me a PM with access information to your wordpress dashboard, I will sort it out.
