Unable to hide wordpress comments

I'm trying to get rid of the comment box on all of my pages and posts but I'm unable to.

I already have:

• Unchecked "Allow people to post comments on new articles" under Settings > Discussions
• Unchecked "Show author, date and comments link below title on all pages" in Post / Page Display Settings in Socrates Settings

Did I miss anything?

You should also uncheck "Allow Comments" in each of your pages and posts.

That's the thing, that option is not in my page/ post editor. I thought it's not there because of Socrates.

If it is not visible in the editor go to the top left of the screen and click on Screen Options and enable Discussion.
