Right Hand Sidebar
Right now I've managed to eliminate everything from the right hand sidebar. I don't want categories or archives etc but I do want to put in other things like maybe a clickbank ad, a photo or a link to a give away or a space to collect emails or whatever. How do I access that sidebar so that I can insert those things.

Calabrese,
If you add textboxes to the Primary Sidebar, you can then add Adsense or Clickbank html to that textbox.
The textboxes can be added when in the 'Widgets' section of your WP Dashboard.

Right Hand Sidebar
How do I add and center a picture in the right hand sidebar or is it only for text?
-
In the HTML to place the picture wrap it in centering tags:
<center><img src="angry.gif" alt="Angry face" /></center>

Right Hand Sidebar
I understand how to put a picture in a post but how do I get it to go in the right hand sidebar?
-
You put that code in a text widget that you have dragged into the sidebar.

Thanks Lynn. It worked like a charm.

I'm missing something...
Hi Lynnth -
I have not been successful in either removing the pages, archives and categories from the right column as Calabrese did. . .
and I can't get an image to appear that I have uploaded into the media library. I'm using a jpg - that should work. I followed your coding and replaced with my pic name and the alt. The alt text showed up.
I'm guessing there's an easy answer to this that I can find on the forum.

Can you post your link?
Do you have wp super cache enabled?
What widgets did you drag to your primary sidebar?
Can you copy and paste the URL from your media library into your browser window and see the image?

Dan - WP is a whole new game for me. I'll catch up soon.
Haven't even installed wp super cache - will do so after I get the site all together. Or I assume it's not installed 'cuz I don't see it on that page under akismet.
The primary sidebar only has categories and recent posts at the moment.
The right sidebar had the three usual items - pages, categories, archives - which I couldn't figure out how to delete. But the optional sidebar took care of the problem - I put in text boxes which are ready to receive the opt-in, ads, etc. So that's ok now.
Yes I can see the image when I copy/past the url in the browser. When I did the same on the sidebar (using the html option, not the visual option), nothing but the alt. text appeared.
Thank you for you patience.
