word press with SOCRATES, update via C PANEL

I just updated the wordpress installation via the cpanel. I have SOCRATES on
my dot com site (which only has ONE sentence on it).

the old installed version was WP 2.8.4 ...... the only version shown as an update
was 2.9.2 ..... so I installed it via FANTASTICO. The version present on the
website shows as version 3.0 wordpress.

If there is a difference between the updated version and the version shown
as the operating version ( 2.9.2 vs 3.0 ) can I make changes to socrates
and perform normal operations in socrates?

Socrates will work with both versions of WordPress.

I successfully installed wordpress on my hosting service .......

looking at the dot com site, I see SOCRATES in the navigation panel, but
it does not show up in the C PANEL anywhere ... isn't it supposed to
be seen somewhere in the cpanel?

If it is in the navigation column is it fully operational?

Socrates is installed into WordPress and will show up in the WordPress dashboard. It will not show up in cPanel which is at a layer above WordPress (it is your hosting service control).
