Primary Navigation Bar Below Header

Hello Support,

I have 4 categories on my site. I want to have a navigation bar under the header, which I have put up for viewing.

When I go to the Navigation section of Socrates I click "yes" I want the bar, it shows it under the header but no info, just an error page from Host Gator. What am I missing here? I deactivated wp cache but no difference.

Probably something simple and easy but...you know.

Did you fill out the URL and title boxes to define what you want displayed?

Yes I put "education" in the URL area and the other words for all four URL areas and the title "Education" and the other titles for all four categories for the titles.

Is there some other than the word I should put in the URL areas like the threadtrends.com/?cat=8 or something?

It worked with the previous theme I had and I don't think I did anything tech related at that time.

First you should set your Permalinks setting to custom and /%postname%/. When you do that the category names will be as you named them and not cat=2.

Your best approach is to go into the Socrates navigation page, delete any text that is currently in the URL boxes and drag the pages or categories from the upper right side into the URL boxes. This will ensure that the proper link is in the box.

My navigation bar does not appear correctly and main header shows code. How do I fix this?

Have you modified any of the Socrates files? If not, I would reinstall Socrates. One or more of your theme files are corrupted.

If I re-install the theme, would this delete or erase everything on my blog?

The only thing you'll need to reset is the header unless you made changes to the theme. Everything else is in the database.
