Happening in IE 8 Only:
The Socrates Forum seems to be having an issue right now. The page doesn't load up completely and if I look at the error being generated, it displays the following:

Weird, I've asked one of our developers to take a look.
Thanks for mentioning...
I guess it shows how few of our forum users are still using IE. We'll get it fixed.

Well, I'm just in the habit of using it because stats still show IE as being the browser most used by web surfers. I just like to see things the same way they will.

Out of curiosity I checked our browser stats for July.
Firefox 2143570 54.2 %
Internet Explorer 1191864 30.1 %
Google Chrome 330001 8.3 %
Safari 131557 3.3 %
Unknown 73676 1.8 %
Opera 39207 0.9 %
While IE is still most popular overall on the web, it is dropping fast..

Hmmm... yeah but you've got more of a technical community here. If you check other stats sites that are less oriented toward web site creation/creators, I think you'll find that it's still around 55-60% IE, 30% Firefox, and the rest other browsers.
My most heavily trafficked site is a informational site and that get's 50% IE, 21% Firefox, 18% Safari, and the rest other browsers. Naturally I always take a peak with Firefox to make sure everything looks okay, but I develop with IE so that I can see issues for a majority of my users right off the bat.
I.E. has certainly dropped although it seems to have stabilized a bit according to this site:
