    Default Remove date time and author on category archive page

    Hiya
    Could someone tell me how to get rid of the date time and author on the category archive page? I have switched it off on the individual post page, but it is still on the archive page. I have done a search and seen that there is a plugin to do it, but there must be a little piece of code to remove which will be a lot easier.
    Thanks very much

    This is a WordPress function. Your best bet is the plug-in.

    You can also remove the line manually from archive.php in Appearance > Editor

    <div class="postAuthor">By <?php the_author_posts_link(); ?> on <?php the_time('l, F jS, Y') ?> | <?php comments_popup_link('No Comments', '1 Comment', '% Comments'); ?></div>

    Unhappy Did not work

    Thanks for directing me to this thread. I could not see an archive.php in Appearance > Editor.

    I removed the line indicated in single.php and that did not take out the date or author.

    What am I missing here?

    What version of Socrates are you using? The archive.php page is in 2.03.

    Smile OK - makes sense!

    Ok I was still using the original 1.2.1 version. Now updated to 2.03 and can see the option you mention.

    Thanks for sorting that out - thought I was beginning to lose it not seeing something so simple

    Hi,
    There are currently 125 plug-ins for this. Would you please tell me the name of the one you prefer. I think I would go nuts if I had to test them all !

    Thanks a lot

    When you say the "the plug-in" which one do you mean exactly?
